Completely covered in red foil, the Dortmunder Kunstverein has been transformed by the four artists into a strange parallel world: the space appears desolate, as if suspended during operation in a state between installation and de-installation. But from dusk until late at night, strange sounds of electronic music, clanking and humming ring through the window panes. In a few places, the foil is scratched, enabling a peep-show like view onto the mysterious scenes inside. Next to real objects placed in the space, morphed protagonists float ghost-like in the room: drinking glasses – both ordinary and of the sleazy novelty variety, small sculptures and frivolous glass objects – many of them having been animated and brought to life with the aid of hologram technology.
